We are looking for a Product Development Chemist to join our highly experienced R&D group at the Oakdale, Minnesota site. In this hands-on role, you will enhance our effort in the development of innovative new products and extension of our current product lines for continued growth in Flexography and Letterpress printing plate solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboratively work with R&D team members to design, plan and evaluate Printing Plate and Imaging Film constructions for use in Flexographic and Letterpress Printing applications utilizing imaging devices, plate processing and ancillary equipment, and characterization of the printing plate by using microscopic and other techniques.
  • Provide technical support for factory scale up and evaluation.
  • Develop understanding of the key technical challenges and develop solutions to resolve the problem by closely working with other team members.
  • Routinely collect and analyze data, and submit technical reports.
  • Protect innovative ideas with submission of new patent applications in collaboration with other co-workers and IP counsel.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Material Science
  • 1-3 years hands on job experience (equivalent related Intern/Co-Op experience may be considered)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and statistical analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with other team members, while making individual technical contributions

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in product formulations for imaging applications
  • Experience with analytical techniques, such as, spectroscopic analysis
  • Experience in contact printing technologies and applications
  • Product scale up and commercialization experience
