Aerotek is looking for a QC tech for a client in Valley park.
Job Description: 1 qc tech in the lab at all times and supporting production. Most of their time they do lab testing, get samples production, write up adjustment tickets to operators and then do the final testing to make sure batches make final specs. Most testing is wet chemistry "nothing too complicated", will use infrared testing but nothing too high tech. mostly titrations, solid analysis, hot plate, viscosity readings.
Must haves: Bachelor degree in any life sciences degree or chemistry OR 2+ years performing basic wet chemistry techniques in an academic setting or industry laboratory: preparing solutions, measuring mixtures and chemicals, etc..
Nice-to-have: industry experience- QC testing in any segment of science, pharma or chemical would be awesome .Hazardous chemical handling would be great.
- Some experience with lab (bio or chemistry)
- Experience around different hazardous chemicals
- Good job history and good reasons for leaving places. Not job hoppy.
- Some sort of troubleshooting experience in order to correct a batch that isn't in spec and make it in spec
- Need to be assertive and strong willed- can't be pushed by pressure to be able to tell people they aren't ready to release the product
Hours: 12 hrs rotating. Work 2on 2off, 3on, 3off/ 5AM-5PM switch every 2 months between day and night
3-2-3 rotation, work 3 days starting on Monday then off 2 days, work two days and then off three days.
Ex: Work 48 hours and then the next week you will work 36 hours then back to 48 the following week.
Look for someone who has good hustle because it is fast paced. In a day they would get 6 different products they would need to adjust, 6-10 to approve for release, paperwork for some of the raw material tests and check specification for that. Will need to do basic calibration of instruments on daily.
