POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to partner with our Enterprise Data management organization as an augmentation to our current staff. The incumbent is someone who is passionate about leverage cutting edge statistic and machine learning methodology to solve real-world business problems, while ensuring the highest quality implementation standards. You will be working closely with internal data scientists, data engineers and business stakeholders to formulate and shape current and future machine learning products across the client global ecosystem. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Research machine learning approaches that have been attempted to best fit the data and business problem that has been provided. Partner with business lead to identify, extract and engineer data for model use. Perform exploratory data analysis and present initial insight to business partners. Test algorithms identified in research phase and deliver performance results that allow for comparison of accuracy. Develop a global version of the requested model and subsequent versions by region to determine incremental accuracy in segmented approach. Validate model and present in MS Powerpoint final model, methodology, variables and results. Incumbent will meet with EDM Advanced Analytics Manager and Pricing Business Partner weekly for 1 hour and adhoc with EDM AA Manager as needed. Incumbent is to work a minimum of 20 hours/week and no more than 40 hours/week. Final deliverable will be a working codebase that is ready for implementation in Sagemaker Client Ops infrastructure. All work is to be performed in GitHub and within the client AWS environment. QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITES) Proficiency with SQL and Python with familiarity in R is required. Proficiency in the following: Time series Neural Networks Econometrics / Finance focus/coursework (preferred) natural language processing Nave Bayes Regression recommendation engines unsupervised segmentation structural equation models price elasticity and optimization supervised classification algorithms Ability to apply data science to real-world problems, capable of breaking down complex problems into key components where advanced statistics, data science, and AI can be leveraged Ability to provide written and oral interpretation of highly specialized terms and data, and ability to present this data to others with different levels of expertise EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or other quantitative disciplines with a focus on statistical modeling, artificial intelligence, and mathematical algorithms In-depth knowledge of Statistics, Mathematics and Machine learning Familiarity working on an agile team (optional) Experience utilizing version control on collaborative projects Experience working with AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3) Experience working on a diverse team leveraging both Python and/or R. Experience with Mlflow a plus
