Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for a Senior Scientist, Ecotoxicology to work in Easton, MD.

Senior Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
  • Plans own work and supervises the day-to-day activities in a laboratory setting under prescribed processes (protocols, standard operating procedures, methods, etc.)
  • Feed, water, and examine animals for signs of illness, disease, or injury sustained in the laboratory.
  • Collect and analyze biological data
  • Provides guidance to technicians on the proper conduct of study assignments
  • Serves as subject matter expert in areas of expertise.
  • Completes highly complex work for research and development under CGMP and/or GLP guidelines for studies, documentation, etc.
  • Performs data analysis, first level and peer review of data.
  • Writes reports on studies.
  • Provides highly complex analytical work on projects and studies using a range of analytical techniques and instruments.
  • Works with independence on studies and assignments.
  • Typically serves as technical leader within a group or team and typically serves as project leader/study director on assigned projects.
  • Serves as point of contact for internal and external customers.
  • Trains staff on techniques.
The ideal candidate would possess :
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
  • M.S. degree in an appropriate field (e.g. biology, zoology, environmental science, marine or fisheries science) with 10 years of experience in plant pathology.
  • Familiarity with sterile culture techniques
  • Ability to prepare chemical solutions and provide supporting calculations.
  • Familiarity with or aptitude for basic statistical analyses is helpful.
  • Ability to read and understand scientific information and use this knowledge to generate coherent reports.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.
