Job Details:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists, managers, directors, and front line client support in providing quality patient care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Obtains and documents complete and accurate medication histories of patients.
- Clarify information with patients, prescribers, caregivers, and pharmacies when needed.
- Assist with additional clinical services, such as prior authorization, refill authorization, etc.
- Assist pharmacists through queue monitoring, data entry and prescription transcription in Pharmacy Information Systems, submit insurance claims, transferring prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws, etc.
Requirements
- National Certification & State licenses are required
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician educational program, preferred
- Experience with medication reconciliation
- Experience with prescription data entry, preferred
- Experience with project coordination
- Able to work independently
- Able to communicate effectively via email and phone
- Open availability for emergency assistance
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with office technology tools, to include MS Office 2000 or later, internet, and email
- Experience with Google G-Suite, preferred
Skills & Abilities
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
- Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
- May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
- Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Visual acuity to see and read fine prints.
- Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.
- This role requires typical office-based physical activities: watching a computer monitor, use of a keyboard, occasionally repositioning light desk equipment, and speaking on a telephone for extended periods of time.
