Microbiologist  II - Raleigh, NC
Kelly Scientific Resources is seeking a Microbiologist to work in Raleigh, NC for a Pharmaceutical client. Candidates with 4-5 years of experience working as a Microbiologist are highly desired. This role will start on a 6 month extendable contract with an option for conversion but not a guarantee. There are two openings, one for 2nd shift (M-F; 3p - 11:30p) and one for 3rd shift (M-F; 5p - 1:30a). Candidates must specify if one or both of the shifts are acceptable. ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THESE SHIFTS AND THE LENGTH OF CONTRACT!
Requirements:




  • Bachelors degree in Microbiology, Biology or a similar field

  • 4+ years experience in a microbiology laboratory is ideal; Candidates with less or a stellar academic background will be considered on a case by case basis

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is highly desired

  • Familiarity with  a GLP or GMP environment

  • Ability to work individually and cohesively as part of a team

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills



Responsibilities:




  • Perform, analyze, and interpret microbiological testing of finished products, raw materials, and environmental samples according to USP (or other) requirements.

  • Isolate and prepare cultures of significant bacteria or other micro-organisms in prescribed or standard inhibitory media

  • Write and contribute to the content of SOPs

  • Facilitate out of specification (OOS) investigations and report appropriately

  • Setting up, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments
