Personnel in this position will be located at the project site in Concrete, Washington.Field engineer will observe drilling, water pressure testing, and grouting activities; interpret subsurface conditions using cores, acoustic and visual televiewer data, water pressure test and grout data; and develop boring logs for grout holes.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform field observation of drilling, water pressure testing, and grouting operations in overburden, reservoir debris, and bedrock.Perform field observation of Contractor's geologist activities, which include rock core logging and televiewing of grout holes using optical and acoustic televiewers.Review rock cores and Contractor's drilling logs.Prepare daily field reports and other field documentation as requested.Perform job duties during day or night shifts at the project construction site in Concrete, Washington.Follow Shannon & Wilson's Quality Assurance policy. Follow and promote Shannon and Wilson's Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies. Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. QualificationsBS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering specialty) or Geological Engineering). 7 to 14 years of experience as a Geotechnical or Geological Engineer. Professional Engineering (PE) License in any U.S. State or Territory preferred . Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds, traverse non-uniform terrain, and climb stairs and ladders.An interest in being on site for the construction and participating in a highly challenging state-of-the-art, technology-heavy, bedrock grouting project.Experienced in rock core logging.Candidates with the following experience are preferred. Those without this experience that are selected to work on the project will gain experience in the following areas during the project.Experience on pressure grouting, seepage cutoff, and dam safety projects preferred.Experience with packer testing in bedrock desirable. Experience with optical and acoustic televiewer data desirable.Experience with collection and interpretation of instrumentation data, including data from vibrating wire piezometers a plus.Shannon & Wilson offers a competitive benefits package to support our employees. In additional to base pay, all employees are also eligible for an annual year-end discretionary bonus.
