  • Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in Physics, Computer Science, engineering or mathematical field.
  • Knowledge of R, Matlab, Python or Scala.
  • Knowledge of building time series, spatial, or forecasting models for prediction.

  • Experience in AWS cloud computing.
  • Knowledge of one or more of Java, Scala and SAS.
  • Open source contributions in areas such as machine learning, distributed systems, and databases.
  • Experience in building predictive models on time series data and other analytics tools to production required.
  • Background in data mining, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, statistics, or probability.
  • Knowledge of random forest, decision tree models and Bayesian inference.

Job Description:
We are searching for a Data Scientist Summer Intern to collaborate on a physics-based data science project or an image analysis project for IOT sensor data from Molex devices. We are a combination software/hardware team working at the cutting edge of industrial smart sensor applications, condition monitoring, and predictive analysis.
  • Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
  • Designs data requirements to bring together data from multiple systems for analysis and model development purposes. Prepares and analyzes data to develop recommendations and strategies.
  • Assists in the creation and implementation of predictive models and analytics tools.
  • Assists in the identification, generation, and selection of features from various structured and unstructured data sets. Identifies approaches to model high dimensional sparse data that may require the use of imputation methods.
