At the direction of the Investigational Drug Services (IDS) Pharmacist Supervisor, responsibilities include:
Communicate with appropriate parties regarding the logistics of investigational studies as assigned, (Examples: Pharmaceutical Company Study Monitors, Federal Auditors, Clinical Research Coordinators, Pharmacy department leaders and staff
Solve problems involving the distribution, preparation, and availability of investigational products as appropriate
Assist with the development and ongoing review of IDS policies and procedures
Monitor technician compliance with policies and procedures
Track IDS preparation for new studies with the IDS supervisor and schedule study readiness meetings
Prepare for internal and external audits
Coordinate the timely completion of investigational product inventory and ensure appropriate documentation and resolution of discrepancies
Write and review study-specific dispensing guidelines
Orient and train new Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in the area of investigational drug services.
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments for technician staff to ensure competency
Assists with the development and monitoring of systems to assure compliance with NH & VT Board of Pharmacy regulations, USP and standards and other requirements for compliance
Leads other technicians to help manage daily operational workflow
Supports supervisor and area pharmacists in executing initiatives to meet the goals of the department
Serves as a role model and mentor
Staffs as needed to support IDS operations
Performs other duties as required or assigned
Must be willing to travel to System Pharmacy sites within NH & VT.
Associates degree in a health or relatedfield, with 1 year of pharmacy experience, or the equivalent in education andexperience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast pacedenvironment with accuracy.
Ability to multitask and attention todetail.
Ability to maintain composure understressful situations.
Able to functionindependently within their scope of responsibility.
