We are seeking an experienced candidate who has a Bachelor's degree in science or related field required. Master's degree in science preferred. A minimum of 5 years related research experience. Possess and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods. Proficient in specific lab research techniques. Candidates must be comfortable with computer equipment and software tools commonly used in research histology. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Senior Research Specialist - Natural Science (Protein Core)


The Protein Core at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has an open position for a full-time Senior Research Specialist with a background in animal injection and hybridoma cell culture and knowledge in protein and cellular biochemistry analytical methods.

The holder of this position performs/designs research protocols and experiment methods for cell culture, polyclonal and monoclonal antibody productions, and cloning. The scientist in this position meets with academic researchers and designs and conducts advanced experiments to meet different objectives of individual researchers, provides guidance and aids the researcher in analyzing and interpreting the generated data, and modifies experimental protocol for future or advanced experiments based on the observed results. Document and disseminate of research activities and results for publication, reports, outreach and user communities.
